You meet these people in all areas of modern life, often you will notice them most when they possess a small amount of power over your life and they are going to exercise it to show you who is boss.
Sometimes these people, cannot achieve their dream of being able to affect your life so they just talk down to you as if you were some lower form of life.
These self important people really need a good kick up the backside to teach them manners, unfortunately in todays western society this sort of aggressive violence is looked down upon, so what can you do instead?

Depression, a multi-million dollar drug company 'disease'. "Here", they say, "take this little blue pill and everything will be better" - unless the little blue pill is full of MDMA (ecstasy) then I doubt it very much.
So what causes depression? Upon reading Timothy Ferris' book The Four Hour Work Week he claims that boredom is the cause of depression. Now this I can see and agree with....

OK, it's that time of year again when many people make New Years Resolutions only to tell all their friends about the new them that is going to emerge this year and all the wonderful things they have resolved to do... only to break all these promises just weeks or even days later!
We have all done it, myself included, so here's how to keep those New Years Resolutions and not break them...

"Why do I always have bad luck", "Bad things always happen to me", "This always happens to me", "Why me?" or as the song goes "If I didn't have bad luck I'd have no luck at all".
Why is it some of us seem to be perpetually cursed with bad luck and some seem to have all the pieces in life fall into their lap everytime.
Those with bad luck struggle through life while those with good luck fly through life.
What makes these two groups different?

The surest way to a life disaster is to care what other people think. Thinking about what "they" will say about you, what "they" will think about you is going to lead you to a quite decidedly unhappy life of discontent at best.
Talking with a close friend a few weeks ago I found out that he was not going to follow up on a seriously good venture because as he said "What would people think?"
I'll let you in on a secret that I discovered....

I was talking with a friend today and he started telling me how a very serious health scare had gotten him to rethink his life, he was re-evaluating a few things and taking out more time to enjoy himself - and to look after his health better.
That made me think - I have never been too serious with my life, I have always been out there enjoying it "too much" but how many people are trapped in their lives waiting for the day when they will really live?
How many people will go to the grave never having even lived yet?

Some of you may have noticed that I bill myself as World's Biggest Action Hero - some dispute this claiming someone else is bigger or better, some question my sanity. It all comes down to two things.
Semantics and direction.

Carl Jung tells us that in a conversation with an American Indian Chief that to Indians it seemed that most white men had tense faces, staring eys and a cruel demeanor. He said "They are always seeking something. What are they seeking? The whites always want something. They are always uneasy and restless. We don't know what they want. We think they are mad."
What are you seeking? Are you uneasy and restless? Do you worry too much? Do you even know what you want? Would the Indians consider you mad?

Opportunities arise on the spur of the moment, you need to be mentally present and aware in order to jump on them.
The opportunity of a lifetime happens everyday, you just need to be ready and prepared - otherwise you will not even recognise it. A passing remark, a story in the newspaper, an overheard conversation - many present the opportunity of a lifetime.
First you need to be prepared enough to recognise an opportunity. To be prepared enough you need to be seriously educated on the subject in question. Formal education from a Government Authourised institution means nothing here. Self education is the only way you are going to get ahead. If you are intereseted in property read every book you can by successful real estate people, including biographies of entrepreneurs, go to seminars, get invovled as much as possible, subscribe to magazines, learn everything you can.

Do you know you have 101 things you should be doing? Do you have trouble getting up and getting started, Do you even know where to start?
A whole list of things that I should be doing buzzing around in my head, I never felt like I was at peace, even when I was resting I still had the mental buzzing that I should be out doing something.
I used to have this problem all the time, things that needed to be done. Things that I should do. And things that would be amazing if I could do them.
Not anymore (well I still have the last problem)...

One thing I keep hearing from people time and again is How do I get motivated, how do I keep upbeat, how do I keep my energy?
The first thing you need to do is give yourself a good start to the day, each and every day:
"People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well neither does bathing. That's why we recommend it daily." - Zig Ziglar

Are you a self righteous vegetarian? Are you holier than thou? Is it trendy within your (limited) circles to be a vego? Do you consider yourself healthy because you are a vego?
Then have I got some news for you. You are probably protein deficient, lacking essential amino acids, likely suffering vitamin and mineral deficiencies.
Why? Because you jumped in without doing your homework....

Obesity has reached epidemic proportions worldwide. More than 1
billion adults are overweight - at least 300 million of them clinically
obese.
This is a major contributor to the global burden of chronic
disease and disability. Often coexisting in developing countries with
under-nutrition, obesity is a complex condition, with serious social
and psychological dimensions, affecting virtually all ages and
socioeconomic groups....

Your recommended "healthy" ideal weight is a table made up of a list of heights and the weight you "should" be to be healthy. I do not know where the table originated from but I guess it was the medical establishment or some government body, or possibly pulled out of someones' butt.
Now according to these tables I am obese, I think my ideal weight is around 95kg - skinny in fact for me.
Yet a girl I know who eats junk food every meal is considered healthy by her doctor because she weighs in within the ideal weight range for her height...

Going through my logs the other day I found a few people were visiting my site looking for the answer to "How to succeed in life".
Since I am considered by many to be a success (apparently only about 5% of Screen Actors Guild members actually make thier living from acting! That's a lot of unemployed wishful actors) I feel as though I can write a few thoughts, but for this one time I am going to turn over the reigns of intellect to some much better known, much wiser heads as I present How to succeed in life...
