Special Fried Rice Recipe

With English as a 3rd or 4th language to many Thai people it is not surprising when you get some rather interesting spellings. Even road signs and street names are spelt differently in Anglicized letters by the government officials.

So on the menu at a restaurant the other day in Pattaya I was hardly surprised to see the following offered on the menu...

A selection of Fried Rice (Khao Pat) and other traditional Thai dishes including one special addition not usually found - and of course never found on the menu in Thai restaurants in the West.

Fried Rice With Meaty Crap

Yep, not just any old crap you get meaty crap with this fried rice.

To the Thais (and I guess other Asians in the region) the 'b' and the 'p' sound similar and it is hard for them to distinguish the difference.

Thus throughout seafood menus across the region you can order Crap.
