Very exciting stuff for about 1% of my readers but if you are not in that 1% read on anyway I'll make it interesting and easy to understand. What this essentially means is that this website is now spread over two different computers, meaning it should run faster and it will be able to handle more visitors at once. Meaning I am expecting a significant increase in web traffic, maybe the long ago mentioned media blitz is finally about to come to fruition? |

TWO MILLION unique visits to this site. Yes, two million seperate visits, not page refreshes, not 'hits' no bullcrap stats but a real 2 million people have 'passed through the gates' so to speak as measured by Google Analytics.
Add in the 756,000 views of my Youtube and Yahoo video channels and another 350,000 from my other assorted websites and that is over 3 million visits to my sites.
Regardless of what anyone says I consider that a major coup in self promotion from a relatively unknown actor and it has been worth it and it is taking me places.... |

Those regular readers will have noticed that over the last few months my site has become flaky, with frequent crashes and hanging (ie no data served to your browser). I have been working with the help of a more knowledgable friend on fixing this.
For those other Joomla users who have hangs due to a high CPU load or high I/O writes I am detailing the fixes I have undertaken so that you may benefit.
This will probably bore the average reader....

As per my last post on what I thought was a failed PHP upgrade it turned out to be a damaged table in my MySQL database.
I know most of my regular readers are not going to be interested in this, but I like to write about how to overcome problems with Open Source software especially as it can help others who later experience the same problem and search through Google to find someone elses answers. This is my way of giving back to the community that provides the free Open Source software that I use...

Due to a recent PHP upgrade to get some auto-responder software to work I seem to have broken my galleries. The photos are accessible as thumbnails but cannot be accessed directly for viewing.
PHP is the open source (publicly available and community driven) web programming language that I use to run this site, to be honest it was only a small upgrade and I was not expecting this to happen at all...
