Due to this website seemingly being banned in Thailand now, I have read through the last article I wrote and it looks as though my references to the Austrlian Police Corruption (that is documented and reported) could have been confused with my story about the Thai Police.
In this light it may seem that I was not happy with the Thai Police when this is certainly not the case, the Thai Police handled the episode in question very well in my opinion, and a hell of a lot better than could have been the case with the Australian Police.
For this reason I'll not be updating for a while as I go through and edit the article and check others to make sure my points and opinions are perfectly clear. The Thai Police are doing a very good job and any quick check of a Thai news service will show that they have a great many problems to deal with, making their job that much more difficult.
Thier quick response and helpfulness the other night that our apartment complex had a break in was much appreciated by all living here.

Lets see, relationship issues, a new eBook, 2 new movie scripts being written out into something usable, and most importanlty sellable. A few TVC castings and one performance....
Training hardcore, meeting IFBB Professional Bodybuilder Con Demetrious, searching for a new training partner, making new friends in my new home town - did I mention that I moved out of Bangkok to a seaside area with good gyms, clean air, less noise pollution, cheaper food and accommodation and a large foreigner population, meaning more idiots to avoid and more decent people to meet......

A couple of weeks ago three agents called me within a few days and I was put up for 3 different TV Commercials (TVC's). One was for Japan, one for Russia and one for Thailand.
Turns out the Russian one was only a small part so I did not need to go for a casting, just my recent photos were enough, the Japanese TVC I had to go to a casting (2 casting it turned out), and the Thai TVC my photos were enough to start with...

David Carradine, star of the age old TV series Kung Fu, was today found dead in his Bangkok hotel room, several stories are already making the rounds in the media, hopefully the media will settle on onenon-conflicting story to make the "suicide" ruling more believable.
David has 222 acting credits to his name on his IMDB page, 14 movies for 2009 alone! This is how I personally met David - in Beijing onset during the filming of the True Legend movie, in fact we had a full day of filming together, as he played my boss....

Our movie, Bangkok Adrenaline, has finished its run in cinemas in Thailand - 3 weeks total. A success!
According to my knowledge in Thai cinema there several cut off points if your movie doesn't make monetary targets it is removed from cinema.
Bangkok Adrenaline made it past the two cut off points and was allowed to run until it stopped making profits....

Bangkok Adrenaline is finally released today 14th May 2009. 3 nights ago I attended the preview screening, held at Siam Paragon, Bangkok.
First up I was surprised that the marketing team had decided to use me as the centre piece for some of the advertising posters, apparently they see me as being a minor celebrity here and thought I would be better known to the Northern audiences, since I have been in a few big budget releases already.
Conan With Conan Advertising Cut Out
So what did I think of the final edit?

What the hell is wrong with America? The RETARDS in congress want to bring in compulsory mental health checks in American Schools, followed by wider public testing.
Ron Paul made a speach against this push by the big pharmaceutical industry to get kids hooked on sh!t like Ritalin.
Searching the underground drug websites I came up with the proclaimation by users that Ritalin has similar effects to taking a small hit of cocaine..... yet they have spent the last 90 years demonizing cocaine... but now we can sell the licenced pharmaceutical copy to kids, not only can sell but force it down their throats if they want it or not.
WTF is wrong America - WAKE UP!
Following is the full text of the speach given on 30th April 2009:

Low recipes? What are low recipes? Celebrity Chef Conan Stevens is going to tell you...
Well I am killing 3 birds with one stone so to speak, in this article low recipes will refer to 3 distinct catagories, low fat recipes, low carbohydrate recipes and low protein recipes with a bonus low sugar catagory too. I am going to explain the benefits, how to achieve them and then give examples...
What sort of low recipes are you looking for?

There are many Strength and Weight training for women programs available on the internet and most, if not all, I say are just junk made to try to sell something to women who are likely to know less about training and supplements than men are.
Now the reality for a strenght or weight training for women routine is that there will not be too much difference from a man's routine who is looking for the same end goals....

Cooking Eggs many a bodybuilders morning ritual, but funnily enough there are those out there who do not know the first thing about cooking eggs. Don't laugh, we were all there at one time.
I still remember clearly a school weekend when about 10 of us aspiring bodybuilders had gathered at a friends place, self serve egg sandwiches were todays menu. After we had all eaten one fellow made his way slowly into the kitchen only to return 5 minutes later empty handed and one question "How do you cook eggs"
This cooking eggs article is written for those other young guys out there taking their first steps towards cooking for themselves....

Bodybuilding workout routines - none of them are going to be particularly magic yet I see people scurrying and reading all over the internet searching for some sort of workout routine holy grail, and in the process using some absolutely hairball bodybuilding workout routines.
After doing a quick search and read online of a few of the top search returns for the phrases "workout routine", "workout routines" and "bodybuilding workout" I was shocked to find some absolute garbage written as bodybuilding workout routines for beginners.
IF you were unfortunate enough to follow some of the bodybuilding workout routines suggested on other sites it would not take long and you would label yourself a hardgainer....

First the ASEAN summit disrupted in Pattaya, with the Japanese, Chinese, SIngapore and New Zealand heads of state barricaded in their luxury hotels. The Australian Prime Minister turned his flight around mid way and went home. Abhisit, the current Thai Prime Minister had his car assaulted and the rear window smashed.
As I predicted back in December 2008, civil unrest has surfaced.
Now Army Tanks and fully armed soldiers are in the streets of Bangkok trying to quell the civil unrest. About 100,000 protestors have blocked traffic for days and the Bangkok Municipal Council has cancelled Thai New Year festivities that were due to start today...

"Prior preparation prevents piss poor performance" this was the mantra chanted by our Corporals, Sergeants and Officers from the Australian Infantry that I did basic training with, and it holds so true that I though it needed a write up of it's own.
So many people have excuses why they did not do something, something did not work out the way it was 'planned' or why something just simply failed....

Two weeks before Christmas 2008 I was scheduled to interviewed on the internet radio station Morning Show Central at www.uncensorednetnoise.com (with over 100,000 listeners world wide), unfortunately we had some difficulty with the telephone hook up and had to reshedule the interview.
3 days before I left to Beijing, to work on the movie True Legend I got on the show, so if you ever wanted to know what Conan Stevens sounds like in person, here is your (recorded) chance...

Funnily enough a lot of people I know who are outstanding in their own way, creative, overly intelligent, non-conformists seem to feel there is something wrong with them, that they are the odd ones out.
I admit there have been times when I thought life would have been much easier if I could be happy following the herd, doing the 9am to 5pm thing for 40 years then retiring to 'enjoy' my old age and lack of health.
But I can't do that, and many people I know also do not fit into the 'accepted' social format, a lot of these people I have noticed feel like social outcasts....

Finally the movie that I moved to Thailand for has been released, 4 /12 years after I filmed in it we finally get to see it. For me it was very funny, a sense of deja vu, or in reality being taken back to that niave person who came and worked for peanuts in my 1st ever Thai film (to be honest though I would not have been paid anymore no matter what I did).
Back then I thought how good it would be to be seen on the big screen in my new temporary home and how good it would be to be recognised by a few avid movie fans who had watched the movie, and we waited, and waited.....

Today walking up my street I found an old lady selling Betel Nut (well technically it is Areca Nut wrapped in Betel Leaf), a natural stimulant found Asia.
I recognised the Betel Nut for what it was from my trip to Myanmar about 2 years ago where every 10 meters on every street in the main city area of Yangon is someone sitting at a small booth selling Betel Nut in a variety of mixes for different flavour.
Previously I tried Betel Nut there in Myanmar but got no high out of it so today I jumped at the chance to try it again. So in Thai I asked the old lady "How much", her reply "10 baht" about 30 cents so out came the spare change and I walked off the happy new owner of...
Do It Yourself Betel Nut Kit
Why? Well Betel Nut is a stimulant, said to be as strong as coffee but also addictive, to me that sounds not quite right.... reading up on the customs and talking to people with 1st hand experience with Betel Nut chewers it sounds like it must be a lot stronger than coffee...
In fact it sounds an awefully lot like after chewing for prolonged periods you get a Betel Nut high...

Alright everyone is doing a Vampire movie, Vampires are IN, seems to be the message even the satirical cartoon series South Park did an episode on the latest fad. Several box office smashes and everyone is scrambling to get a piece of the pie...
Now this movie is different, first it is based on a anime series (the Japanese adult cartoons), it has an Asian twist which means really good martial arts and wire work and the hero is a heroine...
Blood: The Last Vampire follows the Japanese anime storyline with the heroine, South Korean Actress and Model Gianna Jun, playing in the role of a 1/2 Vampire 1/2 Human Japanese Schoolgirl complete with cute sailor style Japanese school uniform....

After much waiting and many delays I have finally made a new showreel featuring the latest movies, this is a much needed update to my previous showreel, and much, much better than the original showreel that Ray threw together for me when we were looking for finance for Bangkok Adrenaline. As you can see most of the footage is new except some of the final wrestling which was a direct lift from my old showreel as I am pressed for time.
So why am I pressed for time?

I was reading Sir Richard Branson's (owner of the Virgin group of companies and one of the most successful men on earth, builder of the fastest ever company to reach $1 billion turn over, etc) latest book the other day and came across one paragraph that stuck out in particular, in amongst a chapter on Entrepreneur and Leadership.
The simplicity and condensation of everything you need to know to stop being a failure and becoming a success all boiled down to one simple paragraph....

These photos were taken in China during the filming of True Legend at the local gym.
The camera was my trust Nokia N95 which does not take good indoor photos and the pics are also a bit blurry as I got a local guy to take a couple dozen photos in a fast sequence and these were the best pics.

True Legend: the upcoming movie Directed by the man behind the scenes with Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Kill Bill, and the Matrix series... a true legend in his own right... Yuen Woo Ping.
True Legend (Su Qi-Er Chinese title) follows in the footsteps of Chinese movies with world wide cinema release that have gone Internationally successful, such as Fearless and Forbidden Kingdom, both of which Yuen Woo Ping was the Action Choreographer for.
I recently travelled to Beijing, China to have the great honour to work with Master Yuen on True Legend, his first Directed movie in 12 or 20 years (depending who you ask)....

Recently it seems a lot of people have started giving me their advice on how I should be living, now unlike a lot of people I completely ignore these advice givers. Sure I write back polite emails or ask them details about why they think that way but after that it leaves my system never to be considered again.
Why? Number 1 is that overall I do not care what other people think, and my number 2 reason for ignoring this advice....

I'm in China again, and that can only mean one thing - Yes I am filming again - FINALLY!
It's been a long time since I worked in a large part, somewhat surprisingly that was in Chandni Chowk To China, where we were filming, somewhat not unsurprisingly in China for a time.
At the moment I am not sure how much I can reveal about the movie so I won't write too much today, and I'll find out how much I am allowed to reveal tomorrow - but I am sure I can for now say I am working with a Hong Kong legend, if not THE Hong Kong legend in the film industry.
Oh yeah, Nihow is Mandarin (Chinese mainland) for hello and it is bloody cold here, -9C to 2C (15F to 32F)
UPDATE: I am working with some ex-WWE Pro Wrestlers, some of the same guys as were in the Som Tam movie, and the Director is Yuan Woo Ping, the biggest name in Hong Kong stunts.

I'm still here, still alive but not too much happening due to the political situation in Thailand at the moment, for those not watching the current news or reading this in the future there has been an ongoing 92 day sit in at parliment house and the national airports taken over by the P.A.D. wealth backed protestors.
The fallout of this is the country came to the brink of civil war (again) and the national economy has been destroyed as tourism plummets to an all time low, many, many hotels, bars and other tourist based industries will go to the wall in the coming months - it will be a national disaster, bad times are ahead for sure.
But for me personally what does it all mean....

About 2 months ago now I travelled to Pattaya City for a day to film in the Thai movie E-Tim Tai Nae, the Director asked for me directly as I have worked with him before, so no casting involved just a negotiation on pay and how many days they want me for filming.
E-Tim Movie Poster
Turns out that the first time I was due to film was just after I returned from my latest trip to Australia, and ended up not being able to shoot as I had contracted Chicken Pox. Luckily for me they held the part and filmed later so I was able to appear in the movie...
