Your first visit to the "Land Of Smiles" - Thailand. You have been here for a few days and are starting to get a feel for the place. Being a Saturday night you decide to venture out for a few drinks at the local Irish pub then off to one of the Huge modern Thai discos.

But please, please don't think because it is alright for the Thais to be ladyboys that you can too. They spend years perfecting their looks, and take female hormones from a young age, they spend hours at beauty salons - they would not leave the house if they were not stunning.
The number of ugly tourist men I have seen wearing a bad wig and an amateur lipstick attempt with an ill fitting dress with hairy arms sticking out - yuk! Do it with style or don't do it at all.
A ladyboy or katoey looks like a lady, a stunningly beautiful lady most of the time, a foreing bloke in a dress is still a bloke in a dress, but if that is your thing Thailand is the place where you'll cop the least grief, and no violence from the locals or expats.
