Scott Levy, WWF's Raven To Star In Horror Movie

Friday, 11 July 2008

Popular wrestler, former WWF Raven is to star in a new Australian based Horror movie.

How do I know this? Am I a personal friend of Raven? No, but I have met him, even wrestled at the same show.

So then how do I know that Raven (Scott Levy) will be starring in this new horror movie....

First I knew of the horror movie I was contacted several weeks ago by a friend of my Australian Agent and offered a lead position in a "deferred payment" horror movie.

"Deferred payment" is a term that means you do not get any pay until/if the movie makes any money several years down the track - not exactly what I need now but I wrote this back in an email to the producer:

If you have a synopsis or character plot with an idea of what would be involved and how many shooting days that would be great. To be honest I am a little hesitant to go paying my own way to make a film that isn't mine but if the role is suitable or professionally rewarding then I am all for it.

I receive a lengthy and detailed email back from the producer and find that the role is something that I would in fact be interested in, as I believe it would be a role that would 'fit me like a glove' so to speak - one that I personally think I could play easily and bring some of my own ingredients into the mix and likely with a degree of creative control of my character - which means I could work out the character and  acting with the producers/director giving me stronger acting / more valuable footage.

Also I must say that there was a level of professionalism that went well beyond amateur movie attempt and the story line was one that I have had similar ideas (in a different genre) for quite some time. An email from a old friend from Canada (a music video producer) giving thumbs up to the Australian producers as being good to work with and friends of hers also helped sway my thoughts. It seemed like a great opportunity, and in retrospect they were probably great people to work with, too. When you're involved in the lengthy process of a long-term project, it becomes extremely important to ensure that you're committed and comfortable with the other staff, whether you're part of a pro team at http://www.partycasino.com/ or you're starring in a movie with an all-star cast.

A week passes as I film in China, then upon arriving back in Bangkok I receive word from the producers that Scott Levy, Raven, was originally offered the lead role but turned it down. Now Scott Levy (Raven) has been able to reshedule and is available for the horror movie.

So unfortunately the acting job offer was withdrawn.

I see the point here and  agree with the producers for several reasons, first of all the job was first offered to Raven, and secondly Raven is still quiet popular and will bring his own audience to the film. Increasing demand for the movie before it is even released.

So that is the full story on how I know Scott Levy, Raven, is to star in a new Australian based Horror film.

Inside info :)
