Jon Foo, previously resident in Bangkok for several years and well known personality has been cast in a new large budget US film that all martial arts action movie fans will know - Tekken 2

Working As A Stuntman In Thailand

I get quiet a few emails from Stuntmen, Actors and Martial Artists from around the world interested in coming to work as a stuntman in Thailand in the movies.

Though it does have some major advantages here like they make about 30 movies a year, it is an emerging player on the world scene, working on the islands and beaches is fun, this is the new center of action movies for Asia, and the lowcost of living here (if you come from the West).

There are some major disadvantages and difficulties too, more so if you are a stuntman...

Tiger Airlines interview? OK. So I now appear in Tiger Tales.

I sat down with a fellow Aussie ex-pat and journalist, Kerrie Hall, at the begining of the year and answered her questions on being so tall in a short person country.

Kerrie is an independant journalist based in Phuket and writes for a variety of magazines, this particular meeting was for Tiger Airlines (Singapore) inflight magazine called Tiger Tales.

I have had several strangers approach me now having seen me in the Tiger Airlines magazine, plus two friends who flew saw me in Tiger Tales and emailed me some photos from their mobile phones....

David Ismalone - Producer Of "Contender - Muay Thai"

David Ismalone is a French friend now relocated to Bangkok, Thailand. He has a great range of experience in martial arts (Thai Boxing - 62 wins out of 68 fights), stunts, and acting.

He is now also the producer for the next season of Sylvester Stallones Contender Muay Thai TV  program, it is being shot in Thailand and features Muay Thai Boxing instead of traditional stand up fighting.

Jon Foo is another stuntman who has worked his way through the Hong Kong movie scene and has now relocated himself to Thailand.

If you have seen Tom Yung Goong he is the fellow in the burning temple who attacks Tony Jaa with the swords.

I met Daniel O'Neill on set of the French Pirate film Tresors. He comes across as a rather quiet and unassuming fellow - until you see his stunt work - Holy flying stuntmen Batman!

You have to see Daniel O'Neill move to believe it, I can't say anymore except watch his stunt video....

Following is a personal interview with Ron Smoorenburg - Martial Arts Movie Star and winner of the Hong Kong Oscar for the best fight scene 1998

I started with Karate when I was 12 years old. I was the only student who came 1 hour before the class starting to practice alone, in a dark dojo. I almost never went to parties and people said I was a boring guy, but I kept believing in my goal - to play in movies like Jean Claude van Damme and Jackie Chan.
