Tiger Airlines interview? OK. So I now appear in Tiger Tales.
I sat down with a fellow Aussie ex-pat and journalist, Kerrie Hall, at the begining of the year and answered her questions on being so tall in a short person country.
Kerrie is an independant journalist based in Phuket and writes for a variety of magazines, this particular meeting was for Tiger Airlines (Singapore) inflight magazine called Tiger Tales.
I have had several strangers approach me now having seen me in the Tiger Airlines magazine, plus two friends who flew saw me in Tiger Tales and emailed me some photos from their mobile phones....

Bangkok, According to Conan Stevens
Possibly the world’s biggest action hero literally, Australian
actor, scriptwriter, bodybuilder, former professional wrestler and
self-confessed genius Conan Stevens stands at 213cm tall (7ft ¼”) and
weighs 143kg. Tiger Tales gets a Conan’s-eye view of Bangkok.
1 Which pub has the highest ceiling (that you can walk into without bending)?
Q-Bar Bangkok and Tunnel Bar have MASSIVE entrances;
I could probably have another guy sitting on my shoulders and still walk in without any problem.
I have picked a friend up in Q-bar, swung him around in the air and
placed him back down without any issues (besides startled looks from
other patrons).
2 Where’s the best place to catch a wrestling match besides Muay Thai?
Wrestling in Thailand: Bangkok Fight Club in Asoke for grappling (no
rules Olympic style wrestling), or on TV in Pattaya (oddly, there is a
24-hour Pro-Wrestling channel in Pattaya, showing mainly Japanese
wrestling).
3 Where do you shop in Bangkok where “normal size” is closer to five feet?
Surprisingly, Khao San Road.
I have bought a pair of jeans there
that are too long and too big for me! I could not believe it. There are
many Nigerians living in that area; they are tall or large, so there
are clothes around there that fit them. Other than that, Bangkok
tailors make my clothing for me. As we speak, a package of expensive
designer shirts is making its way by airmail to me so that I can get
the latest styles tailormade for my frame.
4 Best places to chill-out in Bangkok to escape the crowds.
I like to go out with Thai friends and let them choose the place to
go. This ensures I will go somewhere new that I did not previously know
about, and will be away from the tourist areas as the locals do not
like paying inflated tourist prices any more than I.
5 Where can fans spot Conan this year?
In Thailand, look out for Powerkids, due in cinemas in February, and
Bodyguard 2. Also, currently in production are Bangkok Adrenaline (I’m
scriptwriter and lead actor) due out in Thailand this September, and
The Big. In French cinema, there’s L’Ille Aux Tresors (Treasure Island)
