Protein Drink Recipes - Powder Eggs Tuna more

Unlike the commercial brands Conans Protein Drink Recipes come in a variety of protein types and some are even tasty! 

You cannot eat one type of food all day, and you should not have one protein powder all day in your protein drinks. These protein drink recipes mix it up a bit and keep your life interesting... 

Here are six different and new Recipes for your tasting pleasure

Conan's World Famous Tuna Protein Drink

  • 185g tin tuna in springwater, water drained
  • 400ml of V8 vegetable juice or tomato juice
  • dash of tobasco to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • Blend and drink your new found tuna goodness - surprisingly this tasts good if you don't mind tuna
  • Pros: Good quality protein, it is almost real food
  • Cons: If you don't like tuna then it is disgusting

Unflavoured WPC80 and Fruit Juice Protein Drink Recipes

  • 1/2 cup of WPC80 whey protein powder
  • 400ml of Orange or Apple juice
  • Alternatively use Pineapple juice to aid digestion
  • Optional throw in a Banana
  • Blend till mixed
  • Pros: Easy to drink, different flavour each day, good quality protein, easy to assimilate
  • Cons: Let sit for 15 minutes - otherwise you drink a lot of air and sooner or later it comes out the other end

Shane Strattons Chunky Steak Protein Drink 

  • 200g cooked steak
  • 500ml diet coke
  • blend and drink - personally I hate this one, but a mate reported this was Shane Strattons favourite protein drink / secret diet meal on his way to the Mr. Universe title 
  • Pros: High quality, easy to digest beef protein, almost real food
  • Cons: Taste and texture

Conan's Travellers "I Need Protein Now" Protein Drink Recipe

(used when on the road)
  • 6 - 9 egg whites, 1 yolk
  • 350ml flavoured drinking yoghurt (in BKK I use berry)
  • whisk eggs in a bowl with a fork until the egg whites are broken up then mix in the yogurt, drink it quick
  • If you are really on the road then pour the eggs directly into your drinking yoghurt or flavoured milk and shake for 5 minutes constantly then skull it quickly, try not to choke on the stingy bits
  • Pros: Easy to obtain, cheap, you can buy enough eggs for only one hit and move on
  • Cons: Stringy bits of egg getting caught in your throat, too many raw eggs not good

 Super Egg Nog Protein Drink Recipe

  • 6 egg whites + 1 yolk
  • 1 to 1.5 cups skim milk
  • 3 drops natural vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons sugar (prefer brown or raw) or honey
  • Shake of nutmeg on top after blending
  • Banana optional
  • Pros: Tasty, easy to make and easy to obtain ingredients
  • Cons: Too many raw eggs not good you you, so don't live on these

 Poor Mans Protein Drink Recipe

(Done this one a few times)
  • 1 cup skim milk powder
  • 2 - 3 cups water
  • Stir and drink quickly
  • Pros: cheap, mixes easily, easy to obtain protein
  • Cons: "low" quality of milk protein and all the anti-bacterial drugs they put in milk, a lot of lactose carbohydrates
