Sylvester Stallone's John Rambo 4 is scheduled to start shooting in Thailand in January 2007, yesterday we started receiving John Rambo 4 casting calls from Agents seeking at least 20 local based western stuntmen...
... Shooting is to start in late January 2007 and is to be shot in and around Thailands Northern Provinces of Chang Mai and Chang Rai. The area is forest and mountains and is close to the border of Myanamar (Burma) - the bad guys in this movie.
The story is John Rambo 4 is a retired mechanic servicing boats and salvaging parts/metal from old war machines. His Humanitarian Aid friends disappear in Myanamar and he ends up being forced out of retirement to go look for them.
The scenery around the area is fantastic, the Mekong river is not far away and the area is heavily populated with Elephants (Chang means Elephant in Thai).
We have been in contact with the Thai Production Company
John Rambo 4 casting calls went out from agents today seeking the top 20 (or more) Stunt Actors living in Thailand, surprising the call did not go out through Seng Stunts, that Stunt team that does 98% of all stunt work in Thailand.
At the moment the John Rambo 4 people are just calling for photos, no interviews or auditions yet.
This is the first stage, after this they will call in those that they like the look of to a casting call, which will likely include some basic actions and fight work to prove you can do the job.
Personally I am not sure what to think, I do not want to be labeled as a Stuntman (low pay, low priority) but it is my first chance to get a photo in front of the producers
So I am sending it in. With any luck it will be US based Americans who examine the photos (as the Thai system is to just look for what they have been told and not to deviate) while an American could see my photo and start the cogs turning - what if we use this guy for....?
