This afternoon at 4pm (Asutralian time) I will be doing a screen test for a rather large movie production that will involve some well known people.
At this time I am not sure of what I can write about and what is confidential, so this afternoon I will reveal as much as is allowed.
*UPDATED*....
For the screen test I was sent 5 generic scripts, possibly from well known movies - but since I am not a movie buff I would not know. I had to choose one of these and read it for hte camera, this was then uploaded and sent to America along with a video of myself telling a short story.
The script I chose was the following one;
SCREENTEST – MALE OR FEMALE
OPTION 2
The Protagonist can be played by a male or female. The Antagonist is to be read by the reader.
PROTAGONIST
You want answers?
ANATAGONIST
I think I’m entitled to them.
PROTAGONIST
You want answers?!
ANTAGONIST
I want the truth.
PROTAGONIST
People like you can’t handle the truth.
We live in a belligerent world. A world that has to be protected by those like you. Who else is going to do it? You? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for the weak and you curse the strong. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: that one man’s death, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives.
We use words like honour, code, loyalty…we use these words as the backbone to a life spent defending something. You use ‘em as a punchline.
I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom I provide, then questions the manner in which I provide it. I’d prefer you just said thank you and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon and stand and fight. Either way, I don’t give a damn what you think you’re entitled to.
If anyone can tell me the movie it is from I would appreciate it. *Seems it is from the movie "A Few Good Men" - Thanks Peter and Hemal - now I am going to have to watch how that part was actually played out in the movie and see how my interpretation might come across (probably as someone who has never watched the movie, which means I have my own original version)
As to which movie it is I have been instructed that I cannot say, but it will be a major production with a large budget and possibly with a very well known director - a nice vague but interesting description.
