Friend and Bangkok based stuntman makes it big time!
Jon Foo, previously resident in Bangkok for several years and well known personality has been cast in a new large budget US film that all martial arts action movie fans will know - Tekken 2
Tekken 2 is now cast and rumoured to be up against some very strong and well known competition for the role it is now known that Jon Foo has the starring role....
.... Jon will be best known to US audiences for the fight scene in the Thai movie "The Protector" (Tom Yum Goong) where he fights against Tony Jaa in the burning temple.
This is good news for Jon and good news for those of us still in Bangkok with International aspirations. Jon Foo making it in a large movie will help those of us remaining here in several ways;
- It will raise the reputation of Bangkok based stunt actors
- It will focus some movie makers attention on Bangkok to see what else is happening there
- It gives us here a boost in moral, if Jon can do it then so can we.
To be honest most of the guys I know are positively excited by Jon's success, myself included. First up because Jon is a really nice guy and it is good to see him achieve what he deserves. Secopndly it means our own success is not as far away as we thought, and it might be a heck of a lot closer than we expect.
