Bangkok Adrenaline the movie I wrote the script for and co-starred in gets US DVD/BlueRay release on the 12th October 2010, just a few weeks away. For me this will be interesting to see how much interest is generated within the US, obviously because this is the primary film market in the world.....
Some small measure of response has been checked so far with the UK and Australian releases, I measure the response, well I measure the response of interest to me, by checking webstats and seeing how much Internet traffic (unique visitors) that my sites get each month from people searching the web for information on Bangkok Adrenaline. Of interest will be that in general I get about 10 times as much US traffic as I do UK traffic, this will be of interest as it'll expand my 'grass roots' fan base and my popularity, I might even come to the attention of some Industry executives thereby gaining me more work opportunities and most interesting for me an increase in Internet earnings from the advertising on my website. Since my hobby is online sales and marketing (mainly through this site) it will be of interest to see if the US traffic generates 10 times the income off these keywords (words and phrases that people type into the search engines). Not too interesting for you I bet, but look at it this way. The income figures will be directly translatable to large productions. Say I work as "Jaws" in the next James Bond film for instance, that would bring me enormous amounts of web traffic, you are looking at maybe 100 times the number of visitors - at 100 times the Internet income that I survive on now.... figures start to look impressive now don't they. Problem is, if I do play a new "Jaws" in a new James Bond film then I most likely will be paid enough and have some quiet handsome residuals coming in and won't need to survive on the Internet income. Great. I plan to use this money when I am a major (or at least well known) star to fund medical centers and schooling in South East Asia, particularly Cambodia. Why not? It'll give me a great sense of satisfaction helping some people who cannot even afford basics like penicillin or pencils. And NO I won't be giving the money to the big charities to distribute they'll just consume 70% of the funds in overpaid staff and prominent Western shop space while lording it over the locals in $70,000 SUV's on $100,000 salaries while they cannot provide $1000 funding for the new school. So back on topic. Bangkok Adrenaline is coming out in the US soon.
