Last week I was called by a new agent who approached me via my website several weeks ago, Stephen. As you can tell Stephen is not a Thai name and he has ideas about running a talent agency in a western fashion, which is more suitable for me for many reasons.
Also Stephen, unlike previous farang 'agents' (read rip off merchants) has spent considerable time in the Land Of Smiles, 12 years in fact, is fluent in Thai, understands local ettiquette and customs and fits in with Thai society and most importantly here he is very polite.
So Stephen calls me in for a casting for a TV Commercial...

Last time I had a photo of Ray and I together was way back when we first started writting the Bangkok Adrenaline movie script.
That was way back on 24th Sept 2006, when Ray and I got together for our first trial day of scriptwritting.
So here we are again, 21 months later after the successful reception at Cannes of the Bangkok Adrenaline movie and we are both looking towards the future, what will come of this?

DRONA, the Hindi film I travelled to Mumbai to shoot is finally starting to leak details into the public domain and I can report on DRONA in more detail without breaking my NDA.
From the times, when time itself was a newborn baby, the universe has kept one
secret carefully camouflaged within its folds. A secret, which if unraveled,
could unlock the destruction of mankind and the entire cosmos.
Today,
only one man can protect the universe's precious secret and thus, save the human
race from absolute annihilation...

I was called in last Thursday by an agent I have not spoken to in a while to try out for a part in a new Thai movie currently casting for actors.
Upon arriving at the casting location a truck full of Thai stuntmen pulled up - guys I have worked with on Bangkok Adrenaline, Chandni Chowk To China, Bodyguard 2 - a round of hellos and catching up follwed by introductions to my friend Mark who is looking at getting started in an acting career.
Then into the audition...

In one of the world's oldest adages "It never rains it pours" - or maybe that is just an Australian saying - either way whenever the drought breaks it breaks good.
Actually that does sound Australian, I don't think many other parts of the world have floods directly after decade long droughts.
So again after not much work over the last 2 years it all suddenly comes at once, too much at once as it turns out...

Actually rejected is too harsh a word - the exact phrasing was "Conan, I'm sorry but the framing..." to which I laughed.
I knew it from the start, I was thinking how the heck are they going to frame me.
Oh, sorry 'frame me' is a movie term, not like a gangster term as in "Lets frame Conan for murder", here come inside and I'll explain better...

Last night filming finished on Warner Brothers first Hindi film Chandni Chowk To China.
It was a long and gruelling schedule for the Director and crew with many unplanned changes but for now it is finished and I can get back to my training and eating programs. It is so dificult to be a bodybuilder when everyone on set thinks you are just a whinger because "every one else ate it" yeah well everyone else has an average body - that's what you get from eating a plate of rice 3 times a day.
But back to the headline:

Yes I have accepted the role as Bison's Bodyguard in the US movie Streetfighter 2 based on the smash hit 80's video game of the same name.
At the moment this is about all I can say but once filming starts I'll have some more interesting information.

So who does pay the Hitman?
Well it probably depends upon which movie it is. I seem to be getting a few Hitman role offers recently, makes a nice change from the previous Bodyguard roles though - they tend to be smaller parts (usually).
In the current Warner Brothers Indian movie Chandni Chowk To China I guess it would be my boss Hojo who pays me, but what if there was a new movie titled Who Pay's The Hitman....

I managed to get hold of one of the Som Tam movie posters photos used at the Som Tam movie's publicity launch the other day.
Som Tam Movie Poster
I was told there were to be 3 different movie posters to be used, one of which is to feature myself and Nathan Jones fighting. Let's wait and see.
But I do hope the movie is heavily promoted both in and out of cinemas, it'll be a bit of a thrill to se myself on 20 foot high billboards and probably shock the heck out of a few cab drivers as the realise the bloke in the back is the one and the same.
Now getting a hold of the - IT"S HERE - Som Tam movie trailer

Sunday, 27 April 2008 |
I found these scans of these promotional flyers from the 2006 Cannes Film festival for Power Kids, the movie that got me to move to Thailand.
2006 and it is now half way through 2008, what the heck is happening? I really hope that Baa Ram Ewe gets it together soon and releases the Powerkids movie soon. It is only a small part for me but add it to the other 3 movie releases featuring me prominantly and it'll change my status in Thailand and give me an additional bargaining chip when I negotiate for money...
